Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) has announced that five of its key resorts—Halali, Okaukuejo, Olifantsrus, Namutoni, and Sesriem—achieved an impressive 100% occupancy rate, signaling a positive recovery trajectory for the country's tourism industry.

The hospitality group revealed the milestone, which occurred during the weekend of August 18-20, as a testament to the unwavering interest in Namibia's tourism destinations.

"We are thrilled to witness such a swift rebound in tourism. The dedication of our team, along with the enduring allure of Namibia's natural wonders, has played a pivotal role in our rapid resurgence. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of service and providing unforgettable experiences for our esteemed guests," said NWR Managing Director Dr. Matthias Ngwangwama.

He emphasized that collaboration among hospitality players will be key to collectively enhancing the quality of visitor experiences across the country.

"As the tourism industry rebuilds, we encourage all stakeholders to unite in delivering unparalleled hospitality. Our guests deserve nothing less than the best, and by working together, we can elevate Namibia's reputation as a premier travel destination," Ngwangwama said.

The announcement coincides with NWR's introduction of a price reduction, valid from August 1, 2023, to October 31, 2023, at its resorts and lodges for both Namibians and those from the SADC region, in an effort to boost domestic tourism. This initiative is in response to a significant increase in travel expenses that Namibians have been facing, according to Simonis Storm.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) is a hospitality provider, offering a diverse portfolio of lodges and resorts, while promoting sustainable tourism and preserving Namibia's natural heritage.
