Andrada confirms discovery of lithium mineralization near Uis Mine

August 30, 2023

Andrada Mining has confirmed the presence of continuous lithium mineralization within its ML133 mining license area, situated 35 km southeast of the Uis tin mine.

The exploration program, as stated by the company, aimed to bridge data gaps between known lithium occurrences within its existing mining license ML133 and to define the dimensions of the mineralized trend.

"I am greatly encouraged by the results received so far from the regional exploration initiative, underscoring the potential benefits of our mining license portfolio. Lithium mineralization has now been identified within the pegmatites across all our mining licenses. In numerous instances, Andrada has been at the forefront of recognizing and reporting significant lithium concentrations within these pegmatite clusters in the region. The outcomes of channel sampling affirm the consistent presence of notable lithium, tin, and tantalum mineralization across a substantial strike length," commented Andrada CEO Anthony Viljoen.

Viljoen explained that as the company broadens its production scope at Uis, their objective is to uncover and define additional technology metals resources with the potential to evolve into independent operations.

"Combining these findings with the bulk test work program at the newly constructed Pilot facility will enable the Andrada team to expedite concurrent development of the Lithium Ridge license. We eagerly anticipate the results of the initial RC drill program, designed to investigate the continuity of Lithium Ridge's pegmatites and their underlying mineralization. This ongoing work continues to affirm our belief that the geological characteristics of the Erongo region establish a growing critical metals province in Namibia. As we ramp up and diversify production at Uis, we're also dedicated to identifying and defining further technology metals resources that hold promise for standalone operations," Viljoen remarked.

This development coincides with Andrada Mining's announcement in July that all boreholes in its drilling program at the Spodumene Hill project, near the Uis mine, had intersected lithium and tantalum.

Andrada Mining is an African technology metals mining company that possesses a collection of mining and exploration assets in Namibia.
