Stina wu faces N$ 9.5m property claim

Chinese businesswoman Stina Wu has been taken to court for allegedly refusing to pay N$9.5 million for a property she bought from Esmeralda Manahi in 2019.

Court documents seen by The Brief show that Wu has also not paid municipal charges, rates and taxes in respect of the property for the past three years.

"The Defendant also fails to lease the property from me, for N$104 166.66 per month. Her refusal to deliver written approval for the amount of N$ 9 500 000.00 from Namibian financial institution or bank, registration of the transfer was not affected on 1 November 2019, interest on the amount of N$ 9 500 000.00 accrued as from 1 November 2018 at a rate of prime interest rate confirmed by bank Windhoek,” said Minahi in the court documents.

“In the premises, the Defendant breached the provisions of the sale agreement and the addendum and the Plaintiff is therefore entitled to claim immediate performance and payment of the First Defendant’s obligations."

Minahi is seeking an order compelling Wu to immediately settle all outstanding municipal charges on or before the 5th day of each and every month until the date of registration of transfer of the membership interests in Aquarius Investments from her to Wu, or upon Wu vacating the property to restore it to the same condition in which she received it.

In an alternative claim, Minahi wants to cancel the sale agreement.
