Angola’s AECIPA offers support for Namibia's oil and gas industry growth

The Angolan Oil and Gas Service Companies Association (AECIPA) has offered its support to Namibia in the development of its oil and gas industry.

AECIPA, is an entity established to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among service and business equipment entities in the oil sector, official institutions, and Angolan operators, and focuses on challenges and matters of common interest.

Braulio de Brito, the Chairperson of AECIPA, made the commitment during the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Namibian Association for Offshore Oil and Gas Service Providers (NAOGSP) in Windhoek.

NAOGSP is a recently formed industry association that represents offshore oil and gas service providers in Namibia.

Through the partnership, the two organizations aim to promote and facilitate economic and commercial collaboration among their respective members. This includes exploring joint investment opportunities, fostering business partnerships, and encouraging knowledge exchange.

The two associations also seek to establish channels for sharing relevant industry-related information, such as best practices, technical advancements, and regulatory updates, with the goal of enhancing the capabilities and competencies of their members.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the parties will collaborate on research initiatives, share research findings, and explore joint research projects to address common challenges and identify innovative solutions.

Knowledge Ipinge, the Founder of NAOGSP, emphasized the potential of this partnership, said "NAOGSP is eager to collaborate with AECIPA to cultivate a mutually advantageous relationship. By synchronizing our efforts, we can uncover opportunities and address shared challenges in the oil and gas services sector."

The development coincides with Angola’s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, and Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy having already signed an agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation in the petroleum and natural gas sector, aiming to improve mutual social, economic, and environmental interests between the two countries.
